The Center School hosted over a dozen individuals who are currently working and doing what they love. They shared information about their jobs and careers with our 8th Graders, High School, and Transition Students.
Some of the questions that were asked of each of them were….
What education and or experience did you need to succeed at your occupation?
What are some of the things that you do on a normal day – what is the best part of your job?
Did you do any other jobs before entering your current career?
What advice do you have for someone looking to enter your field?
The Explorers travel to a new and exciting place each month, receiving hands-on educational experiences, where they gain knowledge of the past, present and future.
The Center School received a visit from a professional photographer but not for your typical
“annual school pictures”. Jane Ammon instead volunteered her time and talent to shoot candid photographs of the students. In addition to the candid photos, she also took head shots of students participating in the upcoming Spring musical. The school has displayed the work throughout the hallways and on the website.
Mrs. Ammon, no stranger to education or special education is a certified speech therapist and has her Master’s Degree in Special Education. Her experience in education and her ability to connect with children of all ages is represented in her passion of photography.
Ms. Ammon is a professional photographer in Bucks County, PA. Her website is http://janeammonphotographer.com/childish-delight-gallery.
An ongoing theme in The Center School curriculum this year has been: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. A highlight in this year’s activities was the school-wide trip to the Statue of Liberty.
