Center School 8th grade trip to Washington DC 2014

Center School 8th grade trip to Washington DC 2014On April 10th and 11th, the 8th graders and their team of teachers and staff went to Washington, DC for 2 full days to see the sights and tour our Nation’s Capital. On our first day, we arrived and went straight to the Newseum. We attended a class, had lunch, some of us made a news video and groups visited the many floors of exhibits. We went to the hotel to unpack, take a quick swim and headed out to dinner. It was a beautiful evening so we walked the streets and stopped for frozen yogurt. The next morning we rose very early and set out for a full day of excitement. The tour bus took us to the Lincoln Memorial, the War Memorials, Jefferson Memorial, passing by the Washington Monument, the White House and the Capitol. Next, we toured the Museum of Space and Air, including an IMAX movie on the Hidden Universe. After lunch, we headed to Arlington National Cemetery, where we saw the Changing of the Guards. Our last stop before dinner was the Spy Museum, a live-action, one hour, adrenaline-fueled spy mission. Thank you to the Center School for providing this very awesome experience for our 8th graders.
